Scope and Contents
Records of the Oral History Association (OHA) from the individual members or office holders in the organization make up this collection. These include members who were staffed at UNT at the time of their service in the association. The papers give details of the activities of the Oral History Association, charting its growth, activities, and advances in the field. This includes correspondence, newsletters, meeting minutes, agendas, directories, publications, financial documents, reports, memos, notes, book reviews, bibliographies, programs, guides, attendance lists, event materials, travel documents, and the production of the Oral History Review. Media items include cassette tapes, reel-to-reel tapes, VHS tapes, photographs, and slides.

Biographical or Historical Information
The Oral History Association was founded in 1966 to advance, collect and interpret oral history. The OHA encourages best practices to guide those interested in conducting oral histories. The organization also recognizes achievments in the field with awards for oral history publications, non print media productions, teaching, and projects.

The majority of this collection is stored off-site and requires a minimum of 24 hour notice prior to use. Box 1973a in Series 2 is stored at Willis Library and is available for same-day paging.

Oversized items too large for boxes have been separated to map cases in the Oversize Materials Collection, located in the Library Annex. These require a minimum 24-hour notice prior to use.
Processing Information
