Scope and Contents

The Jim Marrs Collection contains his writings and research on various conspiracy projects and theories. These writings include Crossfire, the book from which Oliver Stone’s JFK movie was based, Oswald’s Confession, a graphic novel, as well as materials related to UFO theories and 9-11 conspiracies. The materials include files, notes on individuals, interviews, publications, audio recordings, slides, photographs, VHS tapes and digital media. A web archive is included with the collection in Archive It.

Biographical or Historical Information

Jim Marrs was an author, a reporter and conspiracy researcher who lived in Springtown, Texas. Marrs was also a University of North Texas alumni. He worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Denton Record Chronicle at the beginning of his career. His focus was on the JFK assassination, UFO theories and other conspiracies. He published a graphic novel entitled Oswald’s Confession, a book titled Crossfire, which was the template for Oliver Stone’s film, JFK, along with other titles associated with 9-11 theories and government cover ups. This collection contains recordings, slides, publications and books related to his areas of interest.
