Biographical or Historical Information
The Cathedral of Hope (CoH) was founded in 1970 when 12 people gathered in a Dallas home to discuss establishing a Metropolitan Community Church congregation. The congregants gathered in private homes for the first year and a half of the church’s existence, using a coffee table as an altar. Today the church has over 4,000 members and is one of the world’s largest inclusive churches that primarily serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender population.
