Biographical or Historical Information

In 1950, the Dallas Chamber of Commerce appointed an Interracial Committe of thirty members in response to a report by Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Citizens Council. They sought to improve and expand housing and improve relations with African-Americans in Dallas. The intent was that the new organization would operate as a clearing house for all groups and individuals interested in goals of this organization.
