Biographical or Historical Information
In 1901, an act of the 27th Legislature founded the Girls Industrial College as a public institution. In 1905, the college's name changed to the College of Industrial Arts (CIA). The Daedalian yearbooks were produced by the College of Industrial Arts in Denton, Texas, (now Texas Woman's University, after another name change in 1957). The Daedalian represents the school's unique history and standing as a single-sex college established by the state of Texas for the education of women.
