Biographical / Historical

Agustin Lucas, born in Ohio and raised in his parents’ native country Spain, was an engineer and lifelong bullfighting enthusiast. He and his family lived in Palacios, a small mountain village where his parents had lived before emigrating to the United States. After the execution of his father in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War, Lucas and his remaining family would move to Madrid in 1941, before settling in Los Angeles in 1946. Lucas would go on to make a career in electronics, having worked at companies such as Price Pfister, Lockheed and Hallamore Electronics, as well as helping to create Parko Electronics with whom he would stay until retirement. Lucas was a member of several bullfighting related groups such as Los Aficionados de Los Angeles and the Orange Country Aficionados, the latter of which he would serve as president, as well as their parent organization the National Association of Taurine Clubs and the Taurine Bibliophiles of America. Lucas passed in 2011 in Los Angeles California.
