Scope and Contents

This collection contains documentation of the political campaign of Guadalupe “Lupe” Arriola for the Ft. Worth City Council in 2009.  It includes campaign materials, campaign walk data, campaign maps, correspondence, financial records, receipts, news articles, a photograph, and books on political campaigns.  It also includes two over-sized campaign posters that documents her list of supporters. The collection includes Tarrant County Precinct information designated by a four digit number, followed by A, B or C, as well as the number of households per Precinct, designated as a numeral followed by the letters "HH" (households).  There are a total of 22 Precincts inventoried in this collection.

Abstract

The Guadalupe “Lupe” Arriola Political Campaign Papers is comprised of materials from Arriola’s bid for City Representative for Fort Worth, Texas  in 2009.  Arriola was the first Latina to run for City Council.  Arriola was an owner of two McDonald franchises in Ft. Worth.

The collection is organized by campaign materials, campaign walk data, campaign maps, correspondence, financial records, receipts, news articles, a photograph, and books on political campaigns.  Includes two over-sized campaign posters, one with host committee of campaign contributors.

Custodial History

Collection created from political materials created by Guadalupe Arriola that she gave to Celina Vasquez after her campaign.  Ms. Vasquez donated the collection to UNT Archives and Rare Books.
